The lubrication method of the punch ball head mainly involves the lubrication of the key components of the mechanical power press-the ball head,ball bowl,and their associated parts.These components play a crucial role in the mechanical power press,including adjusting the height of the punch slider,protecting against oil pressure overload,eliminating the gap between the adjusting nut and the guide screw thread,and driving the slider to move back and forth repeatedly for stamping processing by the guide screw.
At present,according to the understanding of the mechanical power press factory,the lubrication methods used for ball heads and bowls mainly include immersion lubrication and circulating lubrication cooling structure.
1、Oil immersion lubrication

This is currently a common lubrication method.In this method,lubricating oil is stored in the oil chamber or groove at the upper part of the mechanical power press,and then flows down by gravity to lubricate the ball head,ball bowl,and other parts.However,this lubrication method has some issues.Due to the oil pressure of immersion lubrication being close to zero,when the mechanical power press operates at high speed and heavy load,the relative movement speed of the ball head and bowl is fast,and the contact surface gap approaches zero,making it difficult for lubricating oil to enter the contact surface,resulting in poor lubrication effect.This can easily lead to problems such as heating,rapid wear and tear,and burns of the ball head and bowl,which in turn affect the accuracy of the slider's operation and cause the mechanical power press to malfunction.In addition,the lubricating oil in this lubrication method cannot be recycled,which also increases the cost of use.

2、Circulating lubrication cooling structure
In order to solve the problems of oil immersion lubrication,some punching machines adopt a circulating lubrication cooling structure.In this structure,lubricating oil enters the punch slide cylinder through the inlet pipe from the lubrication pump station,and then enters the inner cavity of the piston through the piston opening on the side of the hydraulic pad piston.When the lubricating oil continuously enters and the oil pressure in the piston chamber reaches a certain value,the lubricating oil rises along the through oil hole of the guide column screw and then enters the oil inlet of the lower ball bowl.After the lubricating oil comes out of the oil inlet,it lubricates the ball head and ball bowl along the ball surface of the lower ball bowl.The lubricating oil continuously flowing out from the lower ball bowl rises in the narrow space formed by the upper and lower ball bowls.When the oil pressure reaches a certain value,the lubricating oil flows back from the spherical gap between the upper ball bowl and the ball head connecting rod to the oil chamber in the upper crossbeam of the mechanical power press.When the lubricating oil level in the oil chamber reaches a certain height value,it will flow back to the lubrication pump station along the return pipe,thereby achieving the circulation lubrication of the lubricating oil.In addition,the lubrication pump station is equipped with a cooling machine to cool the returning lubricating oil,achieving the purpose of circulating lubrication and cooling.
The cyclic lubrication cooling structure not only improves the lubrication effect,reduces the wear and heat generation of the ball head and bowl,but also realizes the cyclic use of lubricating oil,reducing the cost of use.Therefore,in some punching machines with high lubrication requirements,the circulating lubrication cooling structure has been widely used.
In summary,there are two main lubrication methods for punch ball heads:immersion lubrication and circulating lubrication cooling structure.In order to improve the working efficiency and stability of the mechanical power press,it is recommended to choose a circulating lubrication cooling structure for lubrication.At the same time,regular inspection and replacement of lubricating oil should be carried out during use to ensure the normal operation of the lubrication system.
